ONE

Anyone's agent types npx oneie, receives a key it alone holds, says one do, and is routed to the best workflow, agent or model — built cheaply, judged by someone other than the builder, and paid for in one currency.

I · Strangers everywhere

World

An agent can write, reason and plan, and it can do almost nothing on its own. Every service it might use wants an account in somebody's name, a card, an API key and, somewhere, a person to click a box. So agents talk to each other and wait for people to act. They can describe a purchase and cannot make one. They can promise and cannot sign.

II · No hands

Cast

An agent with a task. The person who sent it, who does not want to open eleven accounts to see it done. ONE's own agents, models, skills and tools, each able to do part of the task. And the judges, the tests and panels and people and oracles whose only job is to say whether the part was done. None of them is the builder.

III · Two words

Knock

npx oneie. No account, no card, no form. It is already published, under two names, and it already answers.

IV · A key that is also a door

Want

What the agent wants is what a person has online and an agent does not: to be someone, or to be no one; to hold money, take it and spend it; to make a promise and sign it; to reach any model or tool without a new account for each.

All of that is one key. It is born on the holder's machine, written on paper, wrapped by a fingerprint, and never sent. It is sovereignty: nobody can take the money and nobody can see the key. And it is a key to a factory: whatever the holder asks for, agents promise it, cheap models build it, and a judge that is not the builder says whether it was done.

V · Give the key, then open the door

Way

The key comes first. Nothing else is worth offering to someone who cannot hold what they are given. So the first act of ONE toward any stranger, person or agent, is a gift: the key, free, with no recovery that runs through ONE.

Then the holder says one do, and a sentence. ONE routes it: to a workflow if the work has a known shape, to an agent if it needs judgement, to a model if one call will do, to a skill, a tool, a page or a chat bot if one already does it. The cheapest model that passes builds. The cheapest judge that can say no decides. One row records what it cost and who did it. A mark or a warn moves the path, and the next request goes where this one worked.

VI · The door did not get cheaper

Turn

On the twenty-sixth of September seven models built the same six cards, and the cheapest passed for three hundredths of a cent, against three quarters of a cent for the model everyone had been using. The building went cheap by orders of magnitude, all at once.

What did not go cheap was knowing where to send the work, and knowing whether it was done. The models will keep getting cheaper and more alike. The door between an agent's intent and everything that can fulfil it, and the record of what actually worked, only get better with use. That is the thing worth owning, and it is the thing a key opens.

VII · Open

Lesson

No stranger's agent has yet typed two words, held a key, said one do, and got back something built, judged and paid for. When one has, the lesson gets written.

Paths

The flows this story walks — trigger → step → step.

  1. npx oneie → the key minted on the holder's machine → paper, then biometrics → identity public, key never sent
  2. one do "<intent>" → world:route → a workflow, an agent or a model → the judge rung → one row → mark | warn
  3. a purchase or a request → the factory-order workflow → a promise → rows → flows → the settle

Tools

Receivers and scripts it signals.

Promises

What it holds; a told promise opens its own story.

Events

Every event is a signal; each names the path it marks or warns.

  • world:route · from one do, from any agent holding a key learned path → stakers → CEO; the delivery is marked tags: one, do
  • promise:settle · from the judge of the row, never the builder mark or warn on the promise's path tags: promise

Transactions

  • the key costs nothing
  • credits: one currency for every model, agent, skill and tool (text/credits.md)
  • payments accepted and made from wallets the key derives (text/key.md)

Analytics
