Hook Grid

HOOK GRID (Step 1): Designing Your Attention-Grabbing Message

Purpose: To systematically design your initial hook message by strategically connecting prioritized customer motivations (from your Foundation research) to a chosen communication angle, then generating relevant, channel-specific examples (accelerated by the AI Playbook).

1. Customer Driver Focus
(Identified in FOUNDATION - Module 0)
2. Hook Angle & Strategy
(Your Chosen Communication Approach)
3. Channel-Specific Manifestation
(AI-Generated Examples for Prioritized Channels)
A. PAIN / FEAR AddressalFocus: Core Pains, deep Fears, specific Frustrations, negative Consequences of Inaction (Avatar Grid A2, B2, C2).Angle: Agitate the specific, most relevant pain; Use empathy; Highlight risk/loss; Validate their struggle.
Message: “Feeling [Pain]? It’s likely causing [Negative Consequence]…”
Examples (AI Prompts H1, H4):
- Ad Headline: “Shopify Cart Abandonment Killing Your Profits?”
- Social Opener: “Frustrated trying to make AI write decent Ecom copy?”
- Video Hook: “[Visual of empty cart] Still losing sales here?”
B. BENEFIT / GOAL AspirationFocus: Tangible Goals, deeper Dreams/Aspirations, Desired Efficiencies, Core Human Needs sought (Avatar Grid A3, B3, C3).Angle: Promise the desired outcome; Paint the vision of the “After” state; Create hope/desire; Focus on gain/achievement.
Message: “Achieve [Goal] without the usual [Effort]…”
Examples (AI Prompts H2, H4, H5):
- Ad Headline: “Unlock Predictable $10k+ Sales Months”
- Content Title: “The Ecom Owner’s Path to Scalable Growth & Peace of Mind”
- Social Opener: “Imagine effortlessly creating high-converting emails…”
C. UNIQUE / INTRIGUE EngagementFocus: Your Unique Mechanism, Key Differentiators, surprising Market Insights/Trends, common Customer Beliefs (to challenge).Angle: Pique curiosity; Challenge assumptions; Tease a “secret”; Highlight what makes you different; Use pattern interrupts.
Message: “The hidden reason [Common Problem] persists…”
Examples (AI Prompts H3, H4, H6):
- Ad Headline: “Myth: You Need Complex Funnels for Ecom AI Success”
- Social Opener: “Why most ChatGPT prompts fail for Ecom (& the one that works)…”
- Video Hook: “Stop doing this with your Ecom AI…”

Explanations for Using the HOOK Grid:

  1. Column 1: Customer Driver Focus:

    • What it is: This column requires you to revisit your FOUNDATION (Module 0) research, specifically your Customer Avatar Grid. You need to pinpoint the primary emotional or logical driver you believe will be most effective for capturing the attention of your target segment at the specific moment and on the specific channel you identified.
    • How to use: Select the row (A, B, or C) that best represents the core motivation you want to tap into for this particular hook campaign. Are you leading with the pain they desperately want to escape (Row A)? The dream they desperately want to achieve (Row B)? Or are you aiming to grab attention by being different or challenging their assumptions (Row C)? Prioritize based on your Foundation insights.
  2. Column 2: Hook Angle & Strategy:

    • What it is: Based on the chosen Customer Driver (Column 1), this column defines how you will translate that insight into a specific communication angle and core message strategy. It’s about how you frame the driver.
    • How to use: Articulate your strategic intent. If you chose ‘Pain Focus’, is your angle ‘Empathy’ (“We get it…”) or ‘Agitation’ (“Isn’t it frustrating when…”)? If ‘Benefit Focus’, are you highlighting a tangible result or an emotional feeling? If ‘Intrigue Focus’, are you busting a myth, teasing info, or showcasing your unique process? Write down the core strategic message approach. This strategy directly informs the AI prompts you’ll use.
  3. Column 3: Channel-Specific Manifestation:

    • What it is: This is the OUTPUT column where you leverage the AI Prompt Playbook (HOOK Module - Section 5) to generate concrete examples of your hook message, specifically formatted for the channels prioritized in your FIND strategy (Module 0).
    • How to use:
      • Take the Customer Driver (Col 1) and Hook Angle Strategy (Col 2).
      • Select the appropriate AI prompt(s) from the Playbook designed for that angle and your target channel (e.g., Prompt H1 for pain-based ad headlines, Prompt H5 for benefit-based content titles).
      • Crucially, inject the specific context from your Foundation grids into the prompt placeholders (e.g., the exact pain phrasing from Avatar Grid A2, the specific goal from C3, your Unique Mechanism from Company Grid A2/B2, your target channel).
      • Run the prompts and list the generated examples here. Remember these are drafts requiring refinement. This column becomes your bank of initial hook assets ready for testing and implementation (guided by Module 1, Section 8).

Why This Grid Works:

  • Strategic Connection: It explicitly links your deep Foundation research (Col 1) to your tactical communication strategy (Col 2) and execution (Col 3).
  • Clarity of Angle: It forces you to consciously choose how you want to grab attention (Pain vs. Benefit vs. Intrigue).
  • AI Integration: It naturally incorporates the AI Prompt Playbook as the engine for generating tailored outputs based on your strategy.
  • Channel Awareness: It prompts you to consider how the hook needs to manifest differently across various platforms.

By systematically using this grid, you ensure your HOOK messages are not random shots in the dark but are strategically crafted, customer-centric, and AI-accelerated initial engagements designed to pull your ideal prospects
